New CLAiT (Level 1) - CLAiT Plus (Level 2) - CLAiT Advanced
OCR has just launched a major revision to Computer Literacy and information Technology (CLAiT).
The new CLAiT suite has been designed to be flexible, modern, relevant and progressive. It builds on the features of OCR’s leading IT qualifications - CLAiT, Internet Technologies, IBT II and Cambridge Information Technology - to provide a single coherent learning pathway suitable for IT users everywhere.
Each qualification consists of units which can be entered individually, as part of a nationally recognised IT user award, or in any combination appropriate to the needs of the learner. New units address skills in presentation software and Internet skills, and existing units have been updated to reflect the skills needed in the modern workplace.
OCR has joined forces with software company Microsoft to form a powerful alliance to combat the identified UK IT skills gap. Software-specific Microsoft Office Specialist units have been woven into the New CLAiT Suite of qualifications, enabling candidates to prove their ability to use Word®, Excel®, Access®, PowerPoint® and Outlook®. These industry-recognised units not only test practical skills but also efficiency, which is essential in the modern workplace.
